Our Services
As an establishment specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis, Institute for Behavioral Health (IBH) offers a breadth of services. IBH is dedicated to providing exceptional service, care, and betterment in the lives of consumers tasked with developmental disabilities. Utilizing scientifically supported, evidence-based practices, IBH implements a multidisciplinary approach in the application of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). This proven methodology allows the agency’s qualified and caring therapists to effectively modify targeted behaviors. Programs are individualized to meet the specific needs of each individual. It is this personalized approach that allows IBH to effectively reduce an individual’s skill deficits across a wide range of developmental domains; including communication, social skills, self-help, and play skills. Improving upon one or several of these deficits allows individuals with developmental disabilities to lead happier, healthier, and more productive lives. It is the mission of IBH to consistently provide quality and affordable care to its consumers. However, equally important is the personable touch IBH emphasizes in its approach. While the field of behavioral therapy possesses numerous other agencies servicing special needs, they often neglect this crucial component. Since its inception, IBH has managed to rapidly expand its coverage to a greater geographical area within the Inland Empire while retaining the quality of care and client satisfaction that IBH has become renowned for. To deliver an incomparable level of care, IBH and its staff maintain a high level of involvement in each client care. Upon assessing a client, supervisors specifically tailor a program to meet the needs of that particular individual. In turn, an appropriately assigned behavioral therapist works closely with the supervisor on how to best implement the ABA program. Intensive supervision hours are applied to each case to monitor client progress and apply modifications to the program where needed. If deemed necessary, other ABA techniques and alternative approaches to specifically identified situations will be discussed.
Our Other Services
In-School Behavior Support:
We provide support in your child’s classroom. We will partner with your child’s classroom teacher and ensure all your child’s social, academic, and behavior needs are met. We attend your child’s IEPs with you and collaborate with your child’s team of professionals to develop the most appropriate goals. We are contracted with a number of school districts in the Inland Empire. You can call us for more information.
Social Skill Groups:
We provide organized social skills groups for your child and other children in the same age group. The groups meet regularly in our office in San Bernardino and other locations. In our social skills groups, we provide opportunities for all children to practice their learned skills such as waiting, greeting, turn taking, conversation skills, among other social skills. While children participate in their activities and develop friendships, parents get to meet other parents and connect with one another. This is extremely valuable to both clients and their families.
Parent Training:
We coach parents in the home and community to address your child’s skill deficits and excess behaviors. In this teaching model, the parents act as the ultimate therapists for their child. This type of service is the least intrusive type of service provided by our agency provided by our qualified supervisors.
Parent Support Group:
In our monthly parent support groups, we provide opportunities for parents to connect with one another, share resources, develop emotional support and expand their knowledge of ABA. This is an invaluable service to all families as they get to hear from other families and learn that their experiences are not unique to just them. They learn new skills, coping mechanisms, laugh and cry together. Many of our families have found great friendships with other families through these groups. Our parent support groups are open to IBH families and non-families.
Sport Leagues
In our sports leagues that meet weekly, children will practice physical and social skills. Our sports leagues are open to IBH families and non-families. Through our sport leagues, not only many of our clients have made friends, but many of their families bonded with other families and have become a support system to one another.
